Still Life

BRIGHT IDEA!

This still life of a light globe attracted me because of the wonderful colors and pictures that I could see in it, hence I wanted to paint it. Every time I looked at the light globe I could see more colors and more interesting patterns in the globe which I loved capturing.

COLORFUL CAPSICUMS

I love reflections and consequently wanted to paint these four colorful capsicums on a black background to show their reflections behind and below. Capsicums – they blow my mind that they come in so many colors! Every time I went to the fruit market I just wanted to paint them. I completed this painting at home and as it is a still life I needed to complete it quickly before the capsicums went off.

A MIX OF A MADPIE AND JIM BEAN

When I started painting in 2009 I wanted to paint something meaningful for my brother Peter. The things he liked most were the Collingwood Football Club and a cold Jim Bean. I decided to put these two elements together and came up with this painting. This painting was completed very early after I started painting again.  Everything was hand painted and I love the naivety of how I have painted it.

THOMAS’ FIRST FOOTY BOOTS.

This painting was completed in 2009 and is my youngest son’s first pair of football boots, with his football and on the green picnic rug.  Three times a week he would take his boots to wear at training and for the game and I would wash them and place them back into position so I could continue my painting.

LUSCIOUS RED SHOES

One of my first painting I completed at home in 2009.  I bought these gorgeous red shoes but they hurt when I tried to wear them hence decided to paint them.  I thought this beautiful green velvet was a fantastic backdrop that complimented the shoes.
